Sketch for Saturday- Falcon

I've always loved the classic Cap by Sal Buscema , John Romita.
Never forgetting to mention any Cap by Jack Kirby was alway spectacular.

Love this character even with his old Green costume.
But once John Romita Sr gave him the wings! Man was I hooked.

Much Love

Art institute Comic Art class.

This is my third year speaking with the Comic Art class at the Art Institute of Chicago
and man I have to say I really enjoy it.

I hit Millers pub on Wabash before hand for dinner and its all good.
Millers pub is one of those throw back places of Chicago years gone by.
The food is well above average and man the atmosphere is something out of a Paul Muni film.

I bring Atomika's for everyone and hope I'm not too boring..
Lets hope our beloved art form can find its way into the next generation.

A few random pieces for todays art.
Atomika model sheet and issue #12 page 16

Thank you for letting me share.
Warmest regards

Also sketch of the day- the Jackal.

Gonna check out the Wolfman tonight, man when they ran it on tv when I was a kid
I had to sleep with the baseball bat...scared the sh-- out of me and my brothers.

Stay well
Much dago love

Sketch of the day 1/10/10- Kid Colt

Ok, so by now everyone east of the Miss knows about all the snow.
So I won't talk about it...although...never mind.

I decided to knock off a few Marvel Cowboys from the 1970's.
I was guilty of picking up a few of these because of the tremendous Gil Kane, John Romita covers.
You got them home and most were re-prints but man they had great covers.

Sketch of the day- Kid Colt.

Thanks for viewing

Sketch cards for Charity-Blueline Art

Comics for cures sketch cards.
I was flattered by the fine folks at Blue Line Art.com and Comics 2 Games
To pen a few Sketch cards to be auctioned on ebay.
(All the dough going to charity)

I will post the ebay link when I get more info.
I had a blast and would do a million of these if it helps find a cure.

Saturday the 6th of ...Feb..snow and ice..

February in Chicago is like putting the worthless 'R' in the months name..
It should just be Feb..especially because its a sucky month.
I sat in for a few episodes of 'Around comics webcasts last night.

I want to thank Chris and the guys at Dark Tower comics on Western Ave in
Chicago for their wonderful hospitality.

Sketch of the day..Sgt Rock.
I wanted to add a bit more detail to it, like whiskers etc but
figured enough was enough.

Have a Great weekend

Wednesday- Dr Strange..

A bit of marker experimenting here so indulge me a bit.
I've always been a huge fan of Gene Colan's version of Dr Strange.
Especially with the mask.
In fact it had a big influence on my book Atomika.
Playing a bit here with colors and solvents.

A couple more for a lazy..tuesday.

I was doing a few color tests and was a little happy and disappointed in how these two
pieces turned out.
I'm not complaining mind you the idea is to try, experiment and get better.
Look for these two pieces re-worked a bit further down the line.
Spidey and the Sentinels.

Its after 5 and I'm starving...
